It’s been just over one year since 5-year-old Summer Wells, from Rogersville, TN, was reported missing by her parents Candus Bly and Don Wells.
In that time, the social media coverage of what happened to Summer has exploded. So much so that the authorities investigating the case were — and may still be — overloaded with bad tips, false leads and rumors which slowed down their actual investigation.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) held a press conference marking the anniversary (June 15, 2022), but released no new information in the case. Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson remains firm that nothing has been ruled out and everyone is still a suspect. Authorities are adamant that the case remains active and is not considered a cold case.
WJHL-TV in Johnson City, TN recently interviewed TIR’s Chris about the notoriety the case has garnered on social media platforms. Watch Chris’s interview here.
